POSITION SCOPE:

The Finance Clerk position is mainly responsible for coordinating Credit Card usage, reconciliations and assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, purchase orders, bank reconciliations, and additional accounting processes in consultation with the Finance Manager or Director of Finance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Accounting College Diploma or Business Administration Diploma or
• Five or more years of work experience in a First Nation Finance Office or in similar accounting and bookkeeping office setting
• Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certificate up to a Payroll Management certificate considered an asset
• Experience with Sage Accpac Accounting Software considered an asset

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain the ‘credit card orders’ email address by:
• Reviewing the day’s credit card order requests-ensuring they are properly coded and approved
• Booking the credit card in the calendar attached to the credit card
• Record the issuance of credit cards and maintain the credit card manual system
• Keep the invoices received by the staff member once the card is returned, scan them and file them in a folder on the accdata drive.
• Prepare batches in Accounts Payable invoice Module of SAGE 300 for the 1st to the 15th and then for the 16th to 31st
• Make payment of the Accounts Payable batches prepared to record
• Reconcile the credit card purchases to the corporate credit card statement
• Reconcile the credit card control account
