2027 CFO, Winter Data Engineer (8 months)

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity in the COO, CFO Group where you will play an instrumental role in coordinating the development of various automation solutions and web-based applications by leveraging RBC’s big data assets. This role will work with various stakeholders in helping to identify business problems and prioritize them to unlock business value. Our team consists of highly accomplished professionals with various backgrounds in computer science, data, Business analytics, accounting and finance to deliver innovative solutions that supports data-driven decisions.

What will you do?

• Play a central oversight and collaboration role across teams within the various Finance departments across the bank. This includes providing detailed data and analysis that will help other teams within the group enhance and transform their existing reporting processes and dialogue with key stakeholders.
• Apply design thinking and an agile mindset in working with business stakeholders to continuously experiment, iterate and deliver on new ETL initiative and web portal development.
• Support data management processes - acquiring, transforming and storing massive volume of structured and unstructured data.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and develop and manage relationship with relevant stakeholders

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven initiative
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and web development
• Hands-on experience with data processing tools (Pandas, Polars, etc.) and ETL workflows across diverse data sources
• Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Clear oral and written communication abilities
• Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and collaborate effectively with a positive, honest approach

Nice-to-have

• Github Actions automation expertise
• Business Intelligence visualization experience (Tableau or equivalent)
• Domain knowledge in Capital Markets, Personal & Commercial Banking, or Wealth Management
• Involvement in RBC Finance/Risk big data initiatives

In order tobe eligible for these student positions, you must either:

• Bereturning backto school after the work term end-date; or
• If you are not returning back to school (i.are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully
