259544 Software Systems Designer and Developer

NHS Dumfries & Galloway is looking for a Software Systems Designer & Developer to join our Applications & Development Team. This role offers the opportunity to design, develop, implement and support software solutions and system integrations that underpin the delivery of healthcare services across the region.

You’ll work on a diverse portfolio of clinical and corporate systems, supporting everything from patient-facing applications and clinical systems to integration platforms and reporting solutions. The role involves software development, systems integration, database administration, project delivery, supplier engagement, and supporting the ongoing digital transformation of NHS services.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants to work with a wide range of technologies including:

• Microsoft SQL Server
• InterSystems Ensemble / Health Connect
• HL7 Messaging & Interoperability
• Cache ObjectScript
• .NET Development
• Web Technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.NET)
• Windows and Linux Server Platforms
• Database Design and Administration

Working closely with clinicians, managers, system suppliers and national NHS teams, you will play a key role in delivering reliable and innovative digital solutions that support patient care and operational services across Dumfries & Galloway.

We are looking for someone with:

• Experience of software design, development and implementation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Database administration experience
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
• Experience working with system integrations, interfaces or healthcare systems would be advantageous
