As a company in the process of expanding our team, we are looking for an Accountant to contribute to our continued growth and success.
Overview:
- Manage and maintain accounting records for the management company, corporate entities, and subsidiaries.
- Process full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice coding, approvals, payments, and vendor reconciliations.
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, amortization, and intercompany transactions.
- Manage and reconcile intercompany accounts between related entities, as well as bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Prepare GST returns and support monthly financial reporting, cash flow reporting, and management reporting.
- Support payroll processing and related accounting entries and reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations, supporting schedules, and year-end audit and tax requirements.
- Assist the Controller with accounting system implementation, process improvements, and other corporate accounting initiatives.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 3 years of full cycle accounting experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with intermediate Excel skills; experience with Yardi is an asset
- Excellent communication, organization, and data entry skills with superior attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills, with a commitment to meeting deadlines and schedules
