Our client in Toronto, ON is actively looking for an Accountant to join their team.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Manage daily banking and accounting operations.


• Complete monthly bank reconciliations.


• Prepare month-end financial reports and schedules.


• Perform monthly mortgage portfolio and investor reconciliations.


• Process payments, deposits, wires, and disbursements.


• Maintain accurate financial records and resolve discrepancies.


• Independently manage monthly mortgage payment processing.


• Prepare, reconcile, and remit mortgage payments to investors.


• Monitor and investigate missed payments, short payments, and account discrepancies.


• Process mortgage renewals, payouts, and discharges.


• Prepare mortgage discharge statements and supporting documentation.


• Follow up on outstanding balances and payout deficiencies.


• Monitor delinquent mortgage accounts and collections activity.


• Contact borrowers regarding overdue mortgage payments.


• Negotiate payment arrangements within company guidelines.


• Maintain detailed records of collections activity and borrower communications.


• Escalate and resolve complex account issues as required.


• Prepare and coordinate FSRA Annual Information Return filings.


• Coordinate annual financial statement audits.


• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for external auditors.


• Coordinate annual tax slip preparation and filing.


• Ensure compliance with regulatory, investor, and corporate reporting requirements.
