Accountant

Cycle CPA is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting and taxation, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for helping businesses and professionals achieve their financial goals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, preparing personal and corporate tax returns, and assisting with tax planning and compliance. The role involves communicating with clients to gather necessary documentation, resolving accounting issues, and ensuring all work is completed accurately and within established deadlines.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office, and the ability to work with multiple client engagements are essential. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with technology, adapts quickly to new systems, and takes initiative in identifying opportunities to improve processes and deliver exceptional client service.

Qualifications and Skills

• Knowledge of Canadian accounting standards, personal and corporate taxation, and GST/HST compliance.
• Experience with bookkeeping, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and tax return preparation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Strong technological aptitude and the ability to learn and adapt quickly to cloud-based accounting software and digital tools.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research issues and exercise sound judgment.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• A proactive, client-focused approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
