What we're looking for
You'll join a US-based consumer products company that is reimagining the mailbox with modern, design-led, weather-ready mailboxes, package boxes, and house numbers at accessible prices. It is part of a US-based holding company that builds and scales consumer brands across direct to consumer, Amazon, Walmart, and wholesale. With an import-driven supply chain and a high volume of daily transactions, this is a great place to grow your accounting skills.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own the month-end close across multiple related entities, including journal entries, accruals, prepaid and fixed-asset schedules, and balance-sheet reconciliations.
- Reconcile high-volume e-commerce and marketplace activity (DTC, Amazon, Walmart) to the general ledger, including payouts, fees, and chargebacks.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, and manage vendor records, expense coding, and marketplace remittances.
- Support inventory and cost accounting for imported goods, including landed cost, freight, and duties.
- Reconcile 3PL and freight invoices, bank and credit-card accounts, and intercompany cost allocations.
- Document and improve accounting processes, partnering directly with the CFO to automate repetitive work in the ERP and reporting stack.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of month-end close tasks.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and core accounting cycles (AP, AR, GL, reconciliations).
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP, and reconciling large data sets.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple entities and deadlines with minimal supervision.
Nice to Have
- Experience in e-commerce, consumer products, or retail, plus hands-on use of NetSuite (or a similar ERP) and QuickBooks.
- Familiarity with marketplace payout reconciliation (Amazon, Walmart, Shopify), landed-cost accounting, and sales-tax tools like Avalara or TaxJar.
- A CPA, or active progress toward the CPA or a master’s in accounting.
- A proven bias toward process improvement and automation.
- Paid Time Off.
