Accountant

About Our Client

Our client, an established distribution company in Vaughan, is looking for an experienced Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting and financial reporting. This is a hands‑on position suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership of the accounting function and working closely with management.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting activities
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
• Complete account and bank reconciliations
• Manage journal entries, accruals and month-end closing
• Maintain the general ledger and supporting schedules
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable when required
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow reporting
• Prepare working papers and support external accountants and auditors
• Ensure financial records are accurate, complete and properly maintained
• Take on additional accounting and finance projects as required

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Extensive experience with Canadian accounting practices
• Strong full-cycle accounting and financial‑statement preparation experience
• Comfortable working in a hands‑on, stand‑alone accounting position
• Strong reconciliation, reporting and analytical skills
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Organized, dependable and able to work independently
