Accountant-Bookkeeper

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for Accountants for our clients in the Northeast of Calgary.

We are looking for an experienced Accountant who has experience in managing day-to-day general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions. Requirements

• Accounting Designation ( CPA, CA, CMA or CGA )
• Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada or the US with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration or economics.
• At least 3 years of financial accounting in the areas of: General Ledger accounting, including preparation of trail balances, month-end journal entries and year-end entries.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Proven Critical Thinker.

Prior experience in invoicing, bookkeeping, accounting, financial statement preparation, or journal entries is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Establishing and updating Chart of Accounts, including the overall structure and individual coding block components in a financial system.
• Preparation of vouchers and working papers to support entries.
• Analysis of financial data, spreadsheet tracking and troubleshooting of errors.
