Accountant (Nassau County)

Our client, a family office on Long Island with holdings in private lending and private investments, is hiring a Senior Accountant / Bookkeeper to own day-to-day accounting across its entities. The office is formalizing its accounting protocols and controls now, so this seat suits someone who wants to help shape the process as well as keep the books.

Compensation : $100,000 to $120,000

Location : New Hyde Park, NY (5 days/week onsite)

What You'll Do

• Own day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting for the family office and its investment entities

• Set up, maintain and reconcile multiple QuickBooks files and produce reporting from them

• Record and reconcile intercompany activity across related entities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including transfers between operating and capital accounts

• Help implement new accounting protocols and internal controls

• Support real estate closing activity (roughly 10–20% of the role) by preparing outgoing wires from closing instructions and verifying every detail before funds are released

• Assist with month-end close, account reconciliations and year-end tax preparation

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of accounting or senior bookkeeping experience

• Expert command of QuickBooks, including multi-entity setup and maintenance

• Solid grounding in multi-entity and intercompany accounting

• Hands-on experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations

• Exceptional accuracy when handling wires and moving funds

• Comfort working in a small environment where processes are still taking shape

Preferred

• Experience with loan servicing software

• Accounting background in a family office, private lending, real estate or law firm setting

• Exposure to SPV or investment-entity accounting
