Volta Energy Solutions Canada is an overseas subsidiary of Solus Advanced Materials (Korea), driving innovation in the energy and materials sector. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our team in Granby, Quebec.

Role Overview

As a Junior Accountant , you will play a key role in supporting our day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end/quarter-end closings, and sales tax filings. You will work closely with our local team and coordinate with HQ on various financial activities.

Key Responsibilities

• General Accounting & Reporting:


• Book journal entries in SAP based on IFRS principles.


• Prepare monthly financial statements and report to HQ.


• Prepare footnotes for quarter-end closing packages.


• Categorize transactions according to the Chart of Accounts (CoA).


• Maintain vendor, fixed asset, and accrual master data.


• Tax & Audit Support:


• Prepare and file sales tax returns (GST/QST).


• Assist with sales tax and statutory audits.


• Intercompany & Reconciliations:


• Handle intercompany transactions and perform account reconciliations.


• Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.


• Experience: 1-3 years of accounting experience.


• Core Competencies:


• Solid understanding of general accounting principles, IFRS, and journal entries/account reconciliations.


• Experience with month-end closing and financial statement preparation.


• Basic knowledge of cost accounting (IFRS) and Canadian/Quebec tax laws.


• Language Skills: English is required. Proficiency in French is highly preferred.


• Preferred:


• Hands-on experience with SAP ERP (FI/CO modules) .


• Prior experience in sales tax return preparation and filing.
