Job duties

• Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances
• Completing the monthly balance sheet, income statement, and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses for multiple companies
• Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules
• Posting journal entries (with the approval of the Controller or Director of Finance)
• Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditures
• Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets
• Investigating and resolving account discrepancies and issues of non-compliance
• Creating a Standard Operating Procedure Manual for accounting policies, regulations, and reconciliation procedures
• Creating and analyzing liability, asset, and capital accounts by compiling electronic data and required documentation
• Develop financial models to support strategic decision-making and identify areas for improvement
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights to senior management to drive business performance
• Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations to optimize financial performance
• Assist in the development and implementation of financial systems and processes to streamline operations
• Support ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Candidate qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience supporting multiple departments
• 2+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis (preferably in construction or manufacturing)
• Working knowledge of GAAP, Tax laws, Budgetary processes, ERP implementation
• Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)
• Knowledge of BisTrack (ERP) and Great Plains (GP) systems (strong asset)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong time management and prioritization skills
• Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and present findings to senior management
• Detail‑oriented with high accuracy, supported by high‑level critical and logical thinking, analysis, and reasoning
• Ability to work independently, with a proactive mindset for process improvement and business growth
• Ability to provide excellent internal customer service and follow up on requests
