Accounting Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

Insight Global is seeking a Manager, Accounting & Reporting Advisory to join a leading professional services organization in Calgary, AB. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity operating in a hybrid work model, with an expectation to be in the office four days per week. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA-designated accounting professional who thrives in a client-facing consulting environment and enjoys solving complex technical accounting challenges. The successful candidate will partner directly with CFOs, Controllers, and Finance leaders on high-impact engagements involving technical accounting advisory, financial reporting, IPO readiness, M&A transactions, regulatory filings, accounting research, and complex accounting assessments. This individual will play a key role in helping clients navigate critical business events while providing strategic guidance on accounting, reporting, and finance transformation initiatives.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 5-10+ years of accounting experience
• Strong technical accounting expertise, including IFRS and/or U.S. GAAP
• Experience preparing accounting position papers and technical accounting memos
• Client-facing experience with strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Experience leading projects and mentoring junior team membersAbility to thrive in an unstructured, project-based consulting environment

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Public accounting or Big 4 experience
• Experience within a technical accounting or accounting research group
• Exposure to IPO readiness, M&A accounting, due diligence, or regulatory reporting
• Knowledge of internal controls, SOX, or compliance frameworks
• Previous accounting advisory or consulting experience
