Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations for a product-based business, with oversight of financial reporting, inventory-related accounting, internal controls, and month-end close. This role partners closely with operations, supply chain, procurement, and leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, support business decisions, and improve accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, including general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and financial statement review.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, including valuation, reserves, adjustments, and reconciliation of inventory subledgers to the general ledger.
  • Monitor cost accounting activities such as standard costing, variance analysis, bills of materials, and manufacturing or landed cost allocations.
  • Ensure accurate accounting for purchasing, payables, revenue, freight, and intercompany transactions where applicable.
  • Partner with operations, supply chain, and procurement teams to improve inventory controls, reporting accuracy, and cross-functional processes.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls across accounting operations, including processes tied to inventory, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
  • Support payroll-related accounting activities and ensure timely, accurate recording of payroll transactions.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial reporting packages, flux analyses, and management reporting for leadership.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, audit support, and continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting function.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor accounting staff while helping scale processes to support business growth.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Based on general knowledge.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility within a product-based, manufacturing, distribution, consumer goods, or inventory-driven environment.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, cost accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Experience working in ERP environments and with reporting tools such as Microsoft D365, Oracle NetSuite, PowerBI, QuickBooks, SAP, SQL, Workday, or Python .
  • CPA or CMA is preferred.
