Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic finance team. This is a hybrid role based in Victoria, BC. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and supporting project-based accounting initiatives.

Location: Victoria, BC (hybrid)

Reports to: Controller

Job Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $85,000 to $105,000 CAD

Key responsibilities:

  • Execute and support daily accounting operations, including journal entries, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, eliminations, project accounting, and reconciliations, across our Canadian and US entities
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
  • Assist in preparing internal and external financial statements in compliance with IFRS, under the Controller's direction on complex technical areas
  • Support project accounting systems and processes, ensuring they align with organizational goals
  • Collaborate with the Controller to enhance financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems
  • Interact with external auditors and tax consultants during annual audits and periodic compliance reviews
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting and analysis of financial data to senior management
  • Support the use of NetSuite to improve financial operations and data integrity
  • Oversee third party payroll vendors as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 4 to 6 years of progressive accounting experience, including consolidations, intercompany transactions, and month-end or year-end close in a multi-entity environment
  • Comfortable working directly with external auditors
  • CPA designation, or actively enrolled in the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP), preferred
  • Experience with IFRS or US GAAP financial statements
  • Proficiency in NetSuite or similar accounting software
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
