Accounting Manager

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

This is a great opportunity for a real estate-savvy accounting professional to lead financial operations across a portfolio of properties, blending hands-on accounting expertise with real leadership responsibility, in a hybrid role based in Cleveland, OH.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly close and financial reporting across a portfolio of real estate properties or entities
• Manage property-level accounting, including CAM reconciliations, tenant billing, and lease-related accounting
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP for individual properties and consolidated entities
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis at both the property and portfolio level
• Partner with property management and asset management teams to align financial reporting with operational realities
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls across property accounting processes
• Manage and mentor accounting staff supporting the real estate portfolio
• Assist with investor reporting and support audit and tax preparation as needed
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes across the property portfolio

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of accounting experience, with meaningful exposure to real estate or property-level accounting
• Familiarity with CAM reconciliations, lease accounting, and property-level reporting
• Experience with real estate accounting/property management software a plus
• Strong leadership and organizational skills, with prior supervisory experience preferred
• CPA a plus but not required
