Accounting Manager Ecogest Canada is seeking a an Accounting Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, managing accounting functions from start to finish, and supporting the preparation of accurate and timely financial information. This individual will report in person to Head Office in Ayr, ON.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, managing accounting functions from start to finish, and supporting the preparation of accurate and timely financial information. This individual will report in person to Head Office in Ayr, ON.

Key Qualifications

Prior experience with excavation equipment such as excavators is preferred

Knowledge of irrigation systems, gardening, horticulture, and landscape maintenance techniques is desirable

Mechanical knowledge related to tool and equipment operation and maintenance is a plus

Experience with hand tools, power tools, and general construction work is beneficial

Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in various weather conditions

Basic understanding of landscape design principles is advantageous

Previous construction or landscaping experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential

Ability to follow safety guidelines diligently and work effectively as part of a team

Key Responsibilities

Independently manage accounts receivable, invoicing, and related accounting activities;

Prepare and post journal entries, including adjusting and accrual entries;

Take ownership of the month-end, interim, and year-end financial close processes;

Prepare interim and year-end financial statements, including account reconciliations and supporting schedules;

Perform general ledger reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies;

Prepare consolidated financial statements for Canadian entities within the corporate group;

Apply Canadian accounting principles and financial reporting requirements in the preparation of financial information;

Maintain accurate and complete accounting records while ensuring deadlines are consistently met;

Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including colleagues in Canada and Italy;

Be available for occasional short business trips to Italy, particularly during the annual year-end financial close, as required

Compensation

Salary: CA$130,000- CA$135,000

Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
