Under the direction of the manager, the Acquisitions Coordinator coordinates the operational activities supporting library acquisitions, including acquisition order processing, electronic resources processing, cataloguing workflows, and the maintenance of bibliographic records. The role serves as the primary point of contact for internal library departments, ensuring the timely coordination of services and the provision of accurate information. Additionally, the role supports the Manager by coordinating workflow priorities, scheduling work, providing training and guidance to full-time and part-time staff, and monitoring the financial administration of library acquisitions through the reconciliation of purchasing accounts and processing of online payments.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:
Education
University degree in a related field or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.
Experience
Two (2) years recent related library experience, including Bibliographic searching and copy cataloguing to RDA standards with MARC coding within an on-line library system. Experience coordinating workflow.
Knowledge

- Effective problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Intermediate MS Office (Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping practices
