Overview

As a Data Platform Engineer for Alpha Data Services, you will help design and scale a data platform that ingests, enriches and aggregates investment data across multiple sources. You’ll work with clients and onboarding teams to deliver data solutions for holdings, transactions and reference data. The role blends engineering with data governance, performance profiling and cloud design to enable a trusted, scalable data backbone for State Street’s clients. You’ll join a collaborative, innovation-driven environment focused on delivering enterprise-grade data capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and contribute to the design of the Alpha Data Services platform to support rapid business growth at scale
  • Provide data solutions to ADS clients and assist client implementation and onboarding teams
Key requirements
  • 10-15 years of experience in data integration/orchestration, data governance, service architecture and data modelling
  • Hands-on ETL, Snowflake, and CI/CD pipelines; data-readiness design, development and implementation
  • Relational data modeling for audit, time series, complex relations and high-volume data
  • Knowledge of system performance and profiling for large data models
  • Exposure to Holdings, Transactions, Security Reference data, Performance and Attribution, ESG
  • Strong problem-solving, judgment and innovative solution definition abilities
  • Strong collaboration and effective communication
  • Good understanding of SDLC practices
  • Experience with Azure and Snowflake is a plus
  • Experience with Qlik Replicate and Compose tools is a plus
  • Strong SQL knowledge is essential
  • Exposure to financial domain is a plus
  • Cloud Managed Services like MS Azure/DevOps is a plus
  • Prior experience with State Street and CRD is a plus
  • External systems such as Bloomberg, Reuters, Rating agencies and Benchmark data providers
