Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced AEM Full Stack Developer to join our Studio / Technology team at INNOCEAN Canada on a full-time, permanent basis in Toronto (Hybrid). This role sits at the intersection of deep AEM expertise and full stack development, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining enterprise-grade digital experiences across the entire software development lifecycle.
You will build AEM templates, components, and integrations while contributing front-end craftsmanship and back-end services that extend AEM into the broader technology ecosystem. Partnering closely with project managers, designers, UX, and development teams, you'll translate creative vision into scalable, high-performing, and maintainable solutions from pixel to platform.
Key Responsibilities
AEM Development
- Participate in all phases of the AEM development lifecycle, including estimation, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support
- Build and maintain AEM templates, components, dialogs, workflows, models, and services using Touch UI and modern component frameworks
- Configure and manage DAM asset metadata, metadata schemas, and workflows
- Design and optimize dispatcher and CDN caching strategies to improve performance and scalability
- Support AEM Multi-Site Manager implementations and content governance strategies
Front-End Development
- Translate wireframes and creative designs into high-quality, responsive front-end implementations
- Collaborate with UX, creative, and development teams to uphold high standards for digital experience quality
Back-End Development & Integration
- Design, develop, and consume RESTful APIs to integrate AEM with third‑party systems, Adobe Experience Cloud products, and other platforms
- Build and maintain server‑side logic, services, and database structures supporting AEM and related platforms
- Support ETL processes and data workflows tied to campaign, CRM, and content systems
- Apply security, performance, and scalability best practices across all implementations
- Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing across teams
- Participate in estimation, technical planning, and solution design
- Work within Agile delivery environments, contributing to sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives
Qualifications & Experience
Skills and Behaviour
- 3–5 years of hands‑on experience delivering full‑cycle AEM implementations using version 6.3 or higher
- Strong experience with CRX and JCR, Apache Sling, Apache Felix, and OSGi frameworks
- Advanced understanding of dispatcher configuration, caching strategies, and CDN optimization
- Hands‑on experience with Java and JEE, Spring, and test‑driven development
- Solid understanding of REST API development and integration with third‑party and Adobe systems
- Experience with MySQL or similar relational databases
- Comfortable working in Agile or SAFe Agile environments with tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Git
Education and Experience
- Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of combined AEM and full stack development experience
- Familiarity with Adobe Experience Cloud products (Analytics, Target, Campaign, Audience Manager) is an asset
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Google Cloud or AWS is an asset
- Experience with other CMS platforms (Sitecore, Drupal, CoreMedia) is an asset
