Overview

In this role you will build and scale AI-powered systems for 9fin’s debt markets platform. You’ll develop generative AI applications that streamline complex financial workflows and improve decision-making. You’ll drive end-to-end model development, deployment, and evaluation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to maximise impact. You’ll apply cutting-edge research and mentor others as we push AI adoption across the company. This is a high-impact, fast-paced opportunity at a growth-stage fintech with a mission to unify fragmented data in global debt markets.

Responsibilities
  • Design and build generative AI applications for complex financial and legal workflows
  • Lead end-to-end model development lifecycle, ensuring reproducible research and robust deployment
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align on problems and share ideas
  • Translate problems into scoped bets in a fast-paced internal startup style environment
  • Continuously learn and apply advanced AI techniques, iterating with a fail-fast mindset
  • Act as a proactive advocate for AI within 9fin and drive adoption
Key requirements
  • Strong proficiency in Python for production-ready delivery
  • Expertise in Information Retrieval (chunking, embeddings, fine-tuning, re-ranking)
  • Experience with entity/relationship extraction and resolution
  • Knowledge graphs: building, inference, and graph-based retrieval (graphRAG)
  • Recommendation systems and ranking (personalisation, learning-to-rank)
  • Tabular ML and feature engineering (GBDTs)
  • Statistical & predictive modelling (supervised ML, anomaly & temporal modelling)
  • Deep understanding of the GenAI landscape and agentic frameworks
  • Experience across the full model lifecycle (experimentation, training, testing, monitoring, deployment)
  • Strong product focus and awareness of end-user impact
  • Knowledge of AWS AI infrastructure
