AI Engineer - Workday Products

In this role you will help productionise AI/ML solutions for Kainos’ Workday products, collaborating with data scientists, software engineers, and product teams. You’ll gain foundational skills in MLOps, cloud deployment, and software engineering practices while delivering robust AI enhancements for offerings like Smart, Employee Document Management, and Pay Transparency Analyzer. You contribute to a diverse, collaborative culture that values growth and impact.

• Support productionising AI/ML solutions and integrate models into production systems
• Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product teams to deliver scalable AI solutions for Workday products
• Assist in applying software engineering best practices and maintainable code under guidance
• Contribute to MLOps activities including CI/CD, model versioning, and monitoring
• Adhere to responsible AI, security, and data privacy guidelines and raise risks when needed
• Gain exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native AI tools
• Familiarity with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) concepts
• Develop data engineering skills such as data pipelines and wrangling
• Adopt agile software development practices and participate in knowledge-sharing with the team
• Communicate technical ideas clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams

• 2+ years of relevant industry experience
• Foundational software development experience with Python (or Java/C++)
• Willingness to write clean, maintainable code under guidance
• Some exposure to deploying or supporting AI/ML models or projects
• Interest in developing MLOps skills (CI/CD, model versioning, monitoring)
• Awareness of responsible AI, security, and data privacy practices
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) with exposure to cloud-native AI tools (SageMaker, Vertex AI, Azure ML Studio) a plus
• Awareness of Docker and Kubernetes is beneficial
• Emerging data engineering skills with data pipelines or wrangling
• Exposure to agile development practices
