AI Research and Machine Learning Manager

Lead AI research and machine learning initiatives at Vanguard through a hybrid working model focused on technical excellence and enterprise delivery.

As Manager, AI Research, you will lead scientists and technical practitioners while guiding advanced research. You will shape experiments, models, prototypes, and evaluation practices across emerging AI capabilities. The work connects research with engineering, product, business, and strategic partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, hire, coach, evaluate, and develop AI research talent
• Guide complex problems, experiments, models, and prototypes
• Build Vanguard research partnerships with University of Toronto
• Move promising research toward scalable enterprise capabilities
• Advance responsible, secure, and reproducible AI development

Requirements:

• Minimum five years of relevant technical experience
• Experience leading or managing technical research talent
• Expertise in modern AI or machine learning
• Experience transitioning research into production systems
• Master’s degree or equivalent quantitative technical education
