AI Software Engineer Canada

Build scalable software with AI-assisted development for Athennian’s distributed engineering team, working remotely from anywhere in Canada.

As a Software Engineer reporting to the Director of Development, you will design, build, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications. You will contribute to system architecture, application performance, security, reliability, and platform improvements. The work supports Athennian’s Governance Ops™ software, managing entity and ownership data worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and deploy scalable software solutions
• Contribute to configurable, maintainable system architecture decisions
• Use AI-assisted tools while maintaining code integrity
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers
• Review code and optimize performance, security, and reliability

Requirements:

• Four or more years of software engineering experience
• Experience building scalable, enterprise-grade applications
• Production experience shipping real-world AI features
• Fluency with Cursor, Copilot, testing, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure
• Ability to live and work full-time in Canada
