Analyst, Collateral Management Services

  • Location: Toronto, ON - Hybrid (4 days a week)
  • Pay Rate: $41.19/hr - $48.66/hr
  • Contract Length: 6 Months with possibility for extension

We at Raise are hiring a Analyst, Collateral Management Services for one of our top clients. After establishing themselves as an industry leader, they’re now expanding their team to meet rising demand. We’re hiring right now;

Responsibilities:

Variation and Initial Margin Requirements

  • Validating and ensuring all margin calls are issued on a timely basis and perform end to end margin processes
  • Ensure agreement and transfer of eligible credit support within specified timeframe in accordance to the terms of the CSA
  • Management of collateral inventory (non-cash) positions to ensure sufficient levels to fulfill daily margin requirements,
  • Instruct and approve collateral movements via SWIFT/email and or FAX
  • Perform cash forecasting as required intra-day
  • Perform portfolio and collateral reconciliations with counterparties
  • Escalate all issues as per agreed terms and standing orders
  • Responding to inquiries on a timely basis

Operational Controls and Reporting

  • Involved in business user testing for enhancements and system integration
  • Operational onboarding of new and/or existing counterparties for applications and services related to the collateral management process
  • Updating of procedure documents as required
  • Ensuring client data is accurately maintained in collateral management system and other documents as required
  • Assist in preparation of margin requirement/funding report and other ad-hoc reports as required

Administrative

  • Respond to audit request
  • Provide extended coverage during absence of team members (e.g. vacation)

Types of experience required:

  • 1 to 4 experience in financial industry preferably Capital Markets
  • Understanding of RBFG risk policies and standing order
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office suite (adept in Excel)
  • Knowledge of Capital Market products, trade systems and business lines
  • Working knowledge of derivative products and related documentations

Education, certification and designation requirements:

  • Required: Post-secondary education (undergraduate) or equivalent
  • Preferred: CSC or CFA an asset

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people across the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively and work in fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Level of Responsibility & Decision:

  • Agreement to margin calls including collateral utilization for fulfillment of margin requirements
  • Submit request to RMG/CMU to raise additional collateral
  • Escalate areas of concern/risk and raise awareness

What types of recommendations does the job provide to others?

  • Make business recommendations on ways to improve individual/team operational efficiency
  • Influence collateral funding decision with feedback on counterparty operational risk
  • Feedback to business and internal support teams on operational considerations/requirements
  • Reporting requirements for regulatory and internal purposes

Key Relationships

Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR)

  • Escalation and reporting of disputes and/or issues related to Clients margin requirements
  • Reviewing CSA agreement data and setup

Client/Counterparties

  • Fulfilment of Clients variation and initial margin requirements
  • Reconciliation and onboarding inquiries
  • General operational and margin inquiries

    Global Markets Resource Management Group (RMG) and Collateral Management Unit (CMU)

    • Assist in collateral optimization efforts
    • Ensure sufficient availability of collateral to fulfil Clients margin requirements

    Manager and Head of Collateral Management Services

    • Assist with new initiatives
    • Receive directions on daily activities and/or projects
    • Escalation of issues

    Must have:

    • 1-4 Years with OTC derivates products and related documentations/Collateral Management
    • Knowledge of Capital Market products, trade systems and business lines

    Nice to have:

    • Excel
    • CSC or CFA an asset
    • Colline, APEX, RIMMS, Acadiasoft, Trioptima.
