Overview

In this Analytics Engineer role, you design and own the data transformation layer to turn raw operations data into reliable analytical assets. You’ll build trusted data models and semantic layers to empower dashboards and decision-making across Liberis. Working at the intersection of data engineering and business analytics, you’ll partner with engineers, analysts and stakeholders, applying AI tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining governance. You’ll deliver high-quality data products that boost self-service and maintainability, in a fast-growing fintech environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design and build dbt models with a layered data modeling approach
  • Own data model quality through comprehensive testing
  • Create semantic layers (LookML, dbt Semantic Model, or equivalent) for self-serve analytics
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into data models
  • Leverage AI tools to speed SQL/dbt writing, generate tests, and build end-to-end production workflows with human oversight
  • Review peers’ designs, testing strategies, and architectural decisions
  • Maintain and evolve models based on user feedback and schema changes
  • Automate analytical tasks for stakeholders using lightweight Python/SQL workflows
Key requirements
  • Hands-on analytics engineering, data engineering, or BI engineering experience with dbt in production
  • Strong SQL skills (window functions, CTEs, complex joins) and ability to explain query performance
  • Dimensional or data modeling experience; understanding grain, facts, dimensions, historization
  • Production experience shipping models used by real stakeholders
  • Git & CI/CD experience (PRs, code review, version control)
  • Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar)
