Overview

As an Analytics Engineer at G-Research, you will own analytics engineering work across one or more business areas, developing clean, reusable datasets and AI-enabled workflows to support data-driven decision making. You’ll build data models and tools, advocate best practices, and collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to turn priorities into a clear roadmap. The role sits within the Platform and Data Architecture team in Strategy and Insights, driving insights on the firm’s health and supporting strategic delivery. This is a chance to shape data platforms and accelerate analyst-led discovery at a world-class quantitative research house.

Responsibilities
  • Own analytics engineering relationship and roadmap for one or more business areas
  • Develop clean, tested, documented, reusable datasets powering self-service and deep dives
  • Build tools and AI-enabled workflows to speed analyst work
  • Apply software engineering practices to the analytics stack (CI/CD, containerisation, Linux tooling, testing, code review)
  • Collaborate with data analysts and stakeholders, promoting best practices in data modelling and self-service analytics
Key requirements
  • Experience in analytics engineering or data engineering with strong business acumen
  • Strong data transformation skills using Python and SQL; experience with dbt core and dlt
  • Fluent in modern software engineering environment (CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, Linux, version control); DataOps understanding
  • Practical use of AI tools and experience building AI-enabled workflows
  • Proven track record of end-to-end delivery including scoping, design, delivery, and support
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for senior stakeholder relationships
