Analytics Engineer
SF Technology Partners
Build the models that make data products and AI answers trustworthy.
If your strongest work sits underneath the dashboard the models, relationships, measures and business logic this role should appeal.
We’re supporting a business developing data-driven web applications and conversational analytics using Microsoft Fabric. They need a Senior Analytics Engineer to build the analytical foundations behind those products, ensuring people get consistent answers whether they’re using an application or asking a data agent a question.
What you’ll own
You’ll turn platform data into reusable analytical and semantic models, defining how key business concepts such as customers, products, sales and margin relate to each other.
Working with business stakeholders, you’ll establish consistent KPIs and calculations, then make that logic available across applications, analytics and AI solutions.
You’ll also own the “Chat with your Data” roadmap. That means developing Fabric Data Agents, configuring their instructions and context, testing their answers, and improving the underlying models when something isn’t right.
A key part of this is building the business ontology: the definitions, terminology and relationships that help both people and AI understand the data correctly.
What you’ll bring
- Strong SQL and experience designing dimensional and analytical data models.
- Experience building semantic models, reusable measures and consistent business logic.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric or a strong background in the wider Microsoft data ecosystem.
- The ability to work with stakeholders to understand what a measure actually means and how it should be calculated.
- Good practices around testing, reconciliation, version control and documentation.
Experience with Fabric Data Agents, Copilot or conversational analytics would be particularly relevant.
You might currently be a Senior BI Developer, Analytics Engineer or Data Engineer whose work has moved towards Fabric, semantic modelling and data agents.
Why consider it?
There’s ownership here beyond producing reports. You’ll shape how business knowledge is represented and reused across web products and AI, with responsibility for making the answers reliable.
