In this contract Analytics Engineer role, you will design and build analytics-ready data models and reporting datasets to support strategic decision-making. You will enable self-service reporting across the business and collaborate with stakeholders to define metrics and requirements. The position focuses on scalable data models, SQL transformations in cloud platforms, and semantic layers to empower BI tools. This 6-month inside IR35 opportunity sits in a high-performing data team within a telecoms organisation, offering meaningful impact at scale.
Responsibilities- Design and develop scalable analytical data models and reporting datasets
- Translate business requirements into analytics-ready solutions
- Build and optimise SQL-based transformations within cloud data platforms
- Develop semantic models and data layers to support reporting and BI tools
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define business metrics and reporting requirements
- Support the delivery of self-service analytics capabilities across the business
- Proven experience in Analytics Engineer, Data Modeller or similar
- Strong SQL skills with experience building analytical data models
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as GCP/BigQuery
- Understanding of dimensional modelling, star schemas and data warehousing concepts
- Experience developing reporting datasets and enabling self-service analytics
- Ability to engage with business stakeholders and translate requirements into data solutions
