Analytics Engineer II

You join the Butternut data team to build clean, tested data models and datasets that support reporting, data science, and self-serve analytics. You’ll collaborate with analysts, data scientists and product engineers to ensure reliable data foundations and thoughtful transformations. The role offers exposure to modern tools and the chance to explore AI-enabled analytics to add value across the business. • Build and maintain SQL transformations, tests and documentation in dbt
• Develop Python code to automate data workflows and integrations
• Advance data modeling best practices and promote reliable, maintainable transformations
• Support source data readiness for downstream needs with in-house product engineering teams
• Make clean datasets available through Looker and AI data analyst tools for stakeholders
• Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and business units to improve data quality and performance
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and optimize data systems

• dbt experience building production-grade data models and test suites
• practical experience writing maintainable Python code for data processing, automation or integrations
• engineering mindset emphasizing testing, documentation, and maintainability
• excellent SQL skills with understanding of query performance optimization
• good practical understanding of version control and Git
