Anatomical Pathology Technical Specialist

Apply anatomical pathology expertise at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, supporting clinical laboratory quality, education, and standardized procedures across sites.

As a Technical Specialist with Island Health, you will support strategic planning, goal setting, and quality assurance in a multi-site operation. The position evaluates, educates, and teaches Medical Laboratory staff and others. Work includes clinical laboratory procedures, protocols, equipment, and computerized information systems such as CERNER.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with strategic planning and goal setting
• Implement standardized policies and procedures
• Ensure adherence to quality assurance programs
• Evaluate, educate, and teach Medical Laboratory staff
• Perform testing, method development, and evaluations

Requirements:

• Recognized competency assessment or CSMLS certification
• Bachelor of Science degree in a health-related discipline
• Three years recent related clinical laboratory experience
• Knowledge of clinical laboratory principles, procedures, and equipment
• Valid British Columbia Driver's License
