As an Android engineer at Starling, you contribute to an in-house, Kotlin-based Android app and help shape fintech progress. You work in cross-functional feature teams, owning code from development to release while aligning with security and accessibility priorities. You’ll collaborate with designers and engineers to deliver high-quality, testable features and tooling, with frequent releases and automation. - Build, test and ship Android features from day one in cross-functional teams
- Collaborate on CI tooling and improve release processes
- Maintain clean, secure, accessible code across the app
- Write and review code with a focus on quality and maintainability
- Participate in testing strategies (Espresso/UI, JUnit) and work with QA for complex deliveries
- Contribute to feature parity with iOS and modern UI/UX in collaboration with designers
- Engage in ongoing learning and knowledge sharing within the team
- Proficient Android development in Kotlin
- Experience with MVVM architecture
- Experience with RxJava for asynchronous operations
- Experience with Dagger for dependency injection
- Experience with Realm for persistence
- Familiarity with testing (Espresso for UI, JUnit for unit tests) and manual testing practices
- Focus on accessibility and security in app design
