Overview
As an Android Engineer at Yoto, you will build and evolve the native Android app to deliver engaging experiences for families. You’ll work within a small, senior Android team, collaborating with product, design and iOS colleagues to ship high-quality features. You’ll help scale the codebase, improve performance, and shape architecture while leveraging Kotlin and Compose. This role offers influence over mobile direction in a mission-driven company that creates screen-free audio experiences for kids.

- Build and ship high-quality features for the native Android app following best practices and platform guidelines
- Collaborate with product managers, designers and other engineers to craft excellent user experiences
- Participate in code reviews, testing and iterative improvements to maintain a scalable codebase
- Work with the iOS team to implement cross-platform features
- Contribute ideas on architecture, standards and tooling
- Apply automation and AI-augmented tooling to boost efficiency and focus on impactful work
- Several years of Android app development experience
- Native Android Kotlin development experience
- Understanding of MVI or MVVM patterns
- Experience consuming third-party APIs
- Experience with UI, unit and snapshot testing
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Team collaboration and willingness to help others
