Android Mobile Engineer

As Android-focused Software Engineer II, you will contribute to Tripadvisor Experiences by building and delivering high-quality mobile features. You’ll work closely with product managers and designers across a global, cross-functional team, from design through deployment and maintenance. You’ll participate in a rapid release cycle, tackle diverse technical challenges, and explore backend work when needed. • Develop and maintain Android applications within a modular, MVVM-driven architecture using Kotlin, Coroutines, and Jetpack Compose
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to define feature specifications and deliver high-quality user experiences
• Contribute to end-to-end software lifecycle: design, implementation, QA, deployment, and maintenance
• Engage with backend microservices when required and support backend integration via GraphQL
• Adopt a global-first mindset and participate in a fast-paced release cadence with frequent code deployments
• Support learning and growth on the job and explore new technologies as needed
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams across regions

• 3+ years of commercial software development
• Experience developing an Android app; familiarity with mobile web and back-end technologies beneficial
• Proficiency in Kotlin with Coroutines and Jetpack Compose; MVVM and clean-architecture knowledge
• Experience with reactive programming in native mobile platforms
• Ability to break down complex problems into simple solutions
• Strong verbal and written communication; sense of ownership and accountability
