API Software Engineer

In this role you will design, build and maintain high-quality API-based solutions in a collaborative feature team. You will work across the full software lifecycle to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable software that adds business value. The role emphasizes open banking API integrations, microservices, and cloud deployments, with a focus on practical impact and stakeholder collaboration. You will shape and evolve backend capabilities that serve customers and partners, driving reliability and performance.

• Engineer software, scripts and tools within a feature team and collaborate with engineers, architects and business analysts
• Deliver complex, high-quality software rapidly with business value
• Own full lifecycle tasks from development to maintenance, replacement or decommissioning

• Manage requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment and operations throughout the lifecycle

• Experience in software engineering, software design and microservices architecture
• Hands-on building and delivering Java-based microservices and APIs
• Understanding of SDLC and secure, resilient, reliable solution delivery
• Knowledge of Open Banking flows, API integrations, multi-tier architectures, and OAuth/mTLS
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or PCF
• Experience across full software development lifecycle including design, development, unit testing, code reviews, deployment and maintenance
• Experience implementing automated testing and code coverage practices
