Apple Systems Engineer - Helpdesk

Academia is currently seeking to recruit a new member of staff to support the growth of the Technical Services division.As a member of the Apple Helpdesk Team, the emphasis will be on providing high quality technical services & support to our, predominantly Jamf, managed and supported client base.

Amongst other tasks the Apple Systems Engineer will be responsible for;

• Tier 2+ remote desktop support for OSX, iOS and Jamf Pro
• Issue resolution
• Maintenance and automation of software for patch management
• Basic network troubleshooting and diagnostics
• MDM (Jamf) solution maintenance
• Solutions documentation
• ISO procedure documentation
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to a nontechnical audience

Key Skills

• Experience in managing an Apple Mac &/or Apple iOS environment from the ground up using Jamf Pro in a current (MacOS Sequoia and above) environment
• A passion for all things technology related
• Excellent all round communication skills especially in questioning and listening.
• Excellent personal planning and work organisation skills
• Excellent telephone manner
• Ability to demonstrate solutions to customers when necessary
• Experience* &/or certification of any of the following:
  • Jamf Certified
    • Jamf Pro CCA or 300
    • Jamf Protect or 270 or above
    • Knowledge of modern Jamf management including Blueprints & SSO
  • Apple School Manager
  • Apple Business
  • Entra ID
  • Jamf Connect
  • PSSO
  • Jamf Protect
  • Jamf Security Cloud
