Application Architect (AI)

In this role, you will shape the end-to-end architecture for AI-enabled applications and solution patterns, aligning with business goals and delivery outcomes. You will drive technical direction, reference architectures, and reusable accelerators, guiding teams from concept to production while meeting reliability, security, and governance standards. You will work with leading AI platforms to translate business problems into scalable, secure solutions and embed AI responsibly into application design. • Lead the architectural design of AI-enabled software applications aligned with business goals
• Translate stakeholder needs into concrete technical requirements and target architectures
• Design end-to-end AI solutions using Azure AI Foundry and AWS Bedrock
• Define and maintain AI reference architectures and design patterns for use cases (document intelligence, conversational AI, knowledge mining, process automation)
• Provide technical direction to development teams ensuring adherence to standards and patterns
• Oversee AI solution development from proof-of-concept to production and operations
• Utilize reusable accelerators, templates, and tooling to streamline delivery
• Define and implement AI solution lifecycle management within the broader application lifecycle
• Ensure performance, reliability, security, and governance; embed responsible AI in design decisions
• Develop architectural documentation to support delivery and handover
• Mentor team members on AI solution design and best practices
• Collaborate with Cloud and Data Product Architects for integrated designs
• Stay current with emerging AI services and evaluate applicability to standards and delivery patterns
• Contribute to evolution of delivery methodologies to improve reuse and time-to-value

• Demonstrable experience in application architecture for scalable, maintainable software
• Background delivering AI/ML solutions with strong cloud platform experience
• Experience integrating AI into applications and creating AI-enabled apps
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies and cloud technologies
• Knowledge of responsible AI principles, prompt engineering, model evaluation, and IaC (Terraform, Bicep) for AI workloads
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities to develop purpose-driven solutions
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide leadership across teams
• Preferred Azure or AWS AI/Architecture certifications
• Ability to attain UK Security Clearance
