Overview

In this role you lead the engineering delivery for a scalable, multi-tenant data integration platform on Google Cloud Platform. You guide design, standards, and hands-on contributions to ensure reliable ETL pipelines and end-to-end data lineage. You work with cross-functional partners to align technology with business priorities, driving maintainability, performance, and observability. This is a hands-on leadership role shaping a modern, resilient data platform.

Responsibilities
  • Own the platform technical roadmap aligning outcomes to priorities
  • Lead design of new integrations and capabilities with maintainability in mind
  • Set engineering standards for coding, testing, observability, and security
  • Contribute hands-on on critical ETLs and framework components
  • Design robust Airflow-based ETL pipelines with scheduling, retries, and backfills
  • Establish onboarding patterns for source systems and reliable data delivery
  • Drive data quality controls, validations, and runbooks
  • Evolve multi-tenant architecture with isolation and scalable pipelines
  • Improve build/deploy automation and CI/CD practices
  • Implement end-to-end data lineage with visual traceability
  • Enhance observability with logging, metrics, alerts, and dashboards
  • Lead agile ceremonies and mentor engineers
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Partner with product, data owners, and governance teams to shape requirements
  • Manage delivery expectations and unblock blockers
Key requirements
  • Proven Technical Lead / Lead Engineer experience in data engineering or integration platforms in cloud environments
  • Hands-on production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines and Airflow orchestration
  • Strong Google Cloud Platform experience (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow; GKE/Cloud Run; IAM, networking, secrets management)
  • Solid software engineering foundations (Python, APIs, architecture, testing, performance)
  • CI/CD expertise and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
  • Experience designing for reliability (retries, idempotency, DLQ, backpressure)
  • Ability to translate complex topics for mixed audiences and align teams
