Application Operations Specialist

Application operations specialists monitor critical payment services using observability, automation, and incident response expertise. This position supports Interac’s Money Movement products in Canada.

At Interac, the AppOps Specialist works with Product, Development, DevSecOps, Security, and incident teams. The work focuses on stable, performant applications and operational improvement. You will support cloud-native and on-premises environments, including microservices, containers, serverless technologies, and managed cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor application performance, availability, and stability
  • Investigate incidents through troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
  • Improve monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability capabilities
  • Implement releases across environments and validate deployments
  • Participate in rotating 24/7 on-call support

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline
  • Experience supporting business-critical applications in production environments
  • Programming or scripting experience with Java, Python, Bash, or Ansible
  • Experience with cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Willingness to participate in rotating evenings and weekends
