Application Packaging Engineer

Please not the role requires you to be on-site 3 days per week from either Manchester or Blackpool location, the remaining 2 days can be worked remotely
As an Application Packaging Engineer, you will join a specialist engineering team responsible for the technical discovery, packaging, and deployment of applications across enterprise endpoints using Intune and Microsoft Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM).
This is a hands-on technical role requiring demonstrable expertise
Role & Responsibilities
- Application Packaging - Create and maintain application packages using MasterPackager (MSI), Microsoft App-V Sequencer, PowerShell, and PowerShell Application Deployment Toolkit (PSADT).
- Legacy Repackaging - Repackage legacy applications for deployment to modern platforms such as Intune and Windows 365.
- Application Deployment - Deploy and test applications using Intune, Citrix, and SCCM in live-like environments.
- Troubleshooting - Diagnose and remediate deployment failures, co-existence issues, and conflicts.
- Endpoint Security Remediation - Resolve issues caused by Windows Defender ASR and AppLocker rule blocks.
- Discovery Documentation - Produce accurate technical discovery documentation for packaging and deployment processes.
- Quality Assurance - Peer review and test colleagues' work as part of Packaging Quality Assurance (PQA).
- Demonstrable experience in application packaging (App-V, MSI, PSADT). Level 4
- Advanced PowerShell scripting skills. Level 4
- Strong working knowledge of Intune and SCCM for application deployment and troubleshooting. Level 4
- Experience with Sysinternals utilities and other diagnostics tools. Level 3
- Experience with Intune, Autopilot, and Endpoint Security (client-side). Level 3
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Entra, Group Policy, Ivanti/AppSense, Citrix, MSIX, and MSGraph. Level 2
- Familiarity with Micke-K Intune Management Tools for importing and exporting Intune applications. Level 2
- Strong working knowledge of Windows 11
- - Registry, file systems, services, user/system context, Logs, Policies and SysWOW64 redirection. Level 4
