Applications Engineering, Staff Engineer

In this staff-level role, you help accelerate customer adoption of Materials Information Management (MIM) technologies within Synopsys’ engineering solutions. You’ll act as a senior technical advisor, partnering with sales and engineering teams to demonstrate value, map data workflows, and design scalable integrations with PLM, CAE, and other enterprise systems. Your work reduces data silos, improves quality and traceability, and positions materials data as a strategic enabler of digital engineering transformation. You’ll mentor engineers, influence product direction, and drive cross-functional engagements that accelerate customer outcomes.

• Partner with sales teams to deliver demonstrations, proofs-of-concept, and technical presentations for MIM solutions
• Serve as senior technical advisor and primary contact for customers implementing materials data management platforms
• Lead workshops to map materials data workflows, identify gaps, and design scalable, integrated solutions
• Translate data governance and integration challenges into actionable recommendations for engineers and leadership
• Act as SME for Material Information Management in customer engagements and internal initiatives
• Collaborate with product management to influence roadmap priorities and usability improvements
• Mentor application engineers and contribute to internal best practices and knowledge sharing

• 5+ years in engineering, engineering software, technical consulting, or customer-facing technical roles
• Strong understanding of product development processes and data flows across lifecycle
• Hands-on experience with Material Information Management or enterprise materials data management platforms
• Working knowledge of database systems, data modelling concepts, and API-based integrations
• Experience with engineering data management, PLM integration, or digital engineering workflows
• Professional proficiency in English and French/German
