Applied AI Research Scientist

Advance Generative AI and deep learning at CIBC as an Applied AI Research Scientist in Toronto, with hybrid work flexibility and GPU-scale research.

The Advanced Analytics and AI team leads artificial intelligence, predictive science, and machine learning across CIBC. You will drive strategic direction as an individual contributor, collaborating with AI Scientists, Engineers, and Product leaders. Your work spans research partnerships, model development, evaluation, and production systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tackle projects involving foundation models, multi-agent AI, and responsible AI
• Evaluate research in deep learning, NLP, and predictive modeling
• Develop and improve large generative AI models
• Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and product teams
• Represent CIBC within the AI research community

Requirements:

• Advanced knowledge of deep learning, NLP, and big data
• Experience with foundation model architecture and model efficiency
• Hands-on sequential or structured-data research experience
• Excellent coding and large-scale GPU training skills
• PhD and three-plus years research experience, or equivalent
