Architecture Lead (Principal Systems Engineer)

In this role, you will lead the system architecture for the programme, guiding architecture deliverables and ensuring alignment with lifecycle phases. You will drive modelling practices using MagicGrid, manage the SSNA toolset with Cameo, and oversee configuration management of architecture outputs. Working with technical stakeholders, you will shape system behaviour and structure to reduce technical risk, while enabling requirements and integration teams across the engineering lifecycle. This role offers strategic impact through architecture governance and cross-domain collaboration.

• Define and maintain architecture deliverables and work packages to support lifecycle reviews
• Lead the development and implementation of modelling practices using the MagicGrid framework
• Oversee SSNA architecture tool (Cameo) setup, plugins, and server administration with IT and stakeholders
• Develop the SQEP of the Systems Team and wider programme
• Ensure architecture outputs are correct and configuration managed within the architecture tool and PLM
• Lead architecture team to collaboratively develop system architecture with stakeholders, incorporating middle-out design and resolving conflicts to reduce risk
• Direct architecture development to enable requirements and integration work, including system and subsystem requirements, tests, integration activities, and V&V
