Artificial Intelligence Engineer Toronto

Build Python-based AI applications in a hybrid Toronto contract focused on generative AI, machine learning, and analytical problem-solving. Three onsite days are required weekly.

This Artificial Intelligence Engineer contract lasts six months, with potential extension. Candidates from Data Science, Machine Learning, Quantitative Analysis, Mathematics, or Software Engineering backgrounds are encouraged. The work turns ambiguous business challenges into structured models, frameworks, and technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with stakeholders to clarify challenges and requirements
• Design Python applications, prototypes, models, and AI solutions
• Develop workflows using APIs, tool calling, and prompt engineering
• Implement RAG with embeddings and vector search
• Evaluate AI performance through testing and experimentation

Requirements:

• Professional experience in a related technical discipline
• Understanding of artificial intelligence and large language models
• Strong mathematical, quantitative, and statistical foundations
• Experience with experimentation and model evaluation
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
