Assistant Manager Accounting Financial Reporting

Lead financial reporting accuracy for Saskatoon Public Schools while applying accounting analysis, forecasting, and public sector standards on-site.

This full-time permanent Assistant Manager of Accounting supports the Manager of Accounting and General Manager of Financial Services. The position helps administer financial services, policies, systems, and processes across the school division. It also supports reporting, budget development, documentation, and procedural maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial statements and year-end audit files
• Respond to auditors and Ministry of Education inquiries
• Ensure compliance with public sector accounting standards
• Analyze financial information from multiple sources
• Develop forecasts and support annual budget preparation

Requirements:

• Commerce or Business Administration degree majoring in accounting
• Professional accounting designation, preferably CPA
• Four to six years of progressively responsible experience
• Thorough Public Sector Accounting Board standards knowledge
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
