This three-year full-time contract appointment is at the Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream rank. The Department of Geography and Planning seeks expertise in undergraduate teaching, curriculum development, and online course materials. Teaching may address transportation, planning, environmental geography, or related applications. Candidates should demonstrate pedagogical inquiry and teaching-related scholarly activity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver undergraduate Geographic Data Science lectures
• Develop curricula and online teaching materials
• Teach introductory, intermediate, and advanced GIS courses
• Teach capstone and graduate GIS courses for non-specialists
• Carry an assigned teaching and service load

Requirements:

• PhD in physical, human geography, or closely aligned discipline
• Pedagogy or teaching focus in Geographic Data Science
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching degree-granting undergraduate programs
• Expertise in GIS, spatial analysis, and computer mapping applications
