Assistant Systems Design Authority

As Assistant Systems Design Authority, you will support the definition, design and development of technical solutions for the Submarine Command System across platforms. You will work under the System Design Authority to ensure designs meet safety, quality and regulatory standards while balancing programme and budget needs. The role sits in a collaborative SMCS team delivering real-time software and system challenges for UK defence capability. • Coordinate with project and engineering managers on technical aspects of SMCS product designs
• Provide technical support to hardware and software managers and team members
• Respond to customer design queries and investigate defect reports under guidance
• Create, review and maintain System Design documentation

• Extensive experience with software systems and system design in complex engineering environments
• Experience leading development and improving software products aligned with business needs
• Exposure to regulatory and statutory requirements of software products and awareness of potential liabilities
• Qualified to HND/degree level in a STEM discipline; Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional registration
