Associate Analytics Engineer

In this Associate Analytics Engineer role at ASOS, you will join the ADE data ecosystem to turn raw data into analysis-ready products. You’ll learn from Data Engineers, contribute to exploratory analysis and prototyping, and start owning deliverables while supporting stakeholders and the Product Manager. • Design, build and maintain analytical data models and curated datasets in ADE (Databricks)
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to understand how pipelines and tooling fit together and progressively own your deliverables
• Engage with stakeholders to understand business challenges and shape requirements through analysis and documentation
• Perform exploratory analysis and prototyping to test assumptions and profile data
• Evaluate and communicate outcomes, adoption and business value of solutions
• Support Product Manager with discovery activities and ad hoc questions
• Contribute to data quality through testing, validation and monitoring
• Develop analytical data products with best practices (version control, testing, CI/CD)
• Document data models, logic and workflows for discoverability and self-service
• Enable downstream users (Analysts, Data Scientists, BI Developers) to build insights on well-governed data

• Degree in a numerate, technical or analytical subject or equivalent practical experience
• SQL skills with ability to write and interpret queries
• Some exposure to Python
• Interest in modern data platforms (Databricks, Apache Spark) and willingness to learn
• Understanding of data modelling and data warehousing concepts
• Interest in analytics development practices (version control, testing, peer review, deployment)
• Confidence to ask questions and use evidence to support recommendations
