Join AXIS as an Associate Architect within the Data Architecture team to shape how data is captured, stored, and governed across the organization. You will translate business needs into scalable data designs, standards, and policies that maximize value and minimize technical debt. Your work will drive data quality, governance, and integration across front-end systems and data repositories, enabling informed decisions and cost-efficient operations. This role offers exposure to enterprise data lake/warehouse initiatives and collaboration with stakeholders to align data architecture with strategic goals.

- Proactively design the AXIS data estate and accompanying frameworks to maximize data value
- Translate business outcomes into designs and patterns for developers and technical experts
- Develop and embed data architecture policies and working practices for consistency and scalability
- Create conceptual and logical data models for the AXIS data estate and implement them in new systems
- Leverage APIs and data integration expertise to support POCs and evaluate new technologies
- Support governance forums within Data & Analytics and architectural review boards
- Contribute to central data governance and data quality solutions
- Contribute to master and reference data management strategy across the organization
- Engage with group strategy to align AXIS data strategy with business goals
- Simplify data architecture to deliver reusable services and cost-saving opportunities
- Evaluate emerging technologies for data management, storage, and analytics
- Possibly take on additional duties as needed
- Report to Head of Data Architecture
- 3-4 years of experience in data-related design or build work
- Experience with data models and enterprise data lake/warehouse initiatives (ideal) or a software engineering background
- Experience in data analysis, data integration and data governance
- Familiarity with Azure integration patterns including APIs and event streaming
- Understanding of Master Data Management concepts
- Exposure to Cloud Data Platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake
- Understanding of entity-relationship modelling, metadata systems, and data quality tools
- Strategic thinking to relate architecture to business needs and culture
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders and technical teams
- Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing business priorities
- Strong collaboration across multiple work streams
