Associate Director Financial Reporting

Lead McGill University financial reporting and unrestricted accounting in Montreal, applying Canadian standards, internal controls, and analytical judgment.

The Associate Director provides leadership within the Controller’s Office for accurate, timely financial information. This position oversees reporting, audits, funds, compliance, and accounting processes. It also leads a service-oriented team through priorities, development, collaboration, and change adoption.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead unrestricted accounting and financial reporting activities
• Oversee quarterly, annual, regulatory, and tax reporting
• Analyze variances, trends, risks, and financial performance
• Maintain accounting policies and internal controls
• Lead team development and continuous process improvement

Requirements:

• Professional accounting designation, CPA, required
• Bachelor’s degree and five years’ related experience
• Knowledge of Canadian not-for-profit accounting standards
• Experience with audits, reporting, compliance, and controls
• English and French proficiency, spoken and written
